So THIS is What They Refer to as a Social Life

I spent several (three years) not doing much of anything, and it’s amazing how quickly you can get used to that way of life. Not that I never missed my former, busy lifestyle, but I was being a recluse in a different place, not Chicago. I think it would have been a lot harder if I’d still been in my old life.

My point is, I’m quite content not doing much outside of work, but that doesn’t mean I don’t long for the occasional night out. Figures those things would all come in one week, right? Last weekend was full of work-related activities (for Cans From Fans and a surprise party for my boss), then Monday I went to see Ludacris (!!) and tonight I’m seeing O.A.R.

Tomorrow I’m seeing the latest in a series of movies that shall not be mentioned but you should be able to figure out what it is if you pay any attention at all (and if you have a penchant for full moons and/or sparkles). Then it’s the long weekend! I don’t have plans for that yet, but I’m sure something will come up.

What do you have going on this week?

  2. I drive my husband crazy because I like to go out and do stuff all the time. Even after cleaning houses or chasing Joey all day. Now that we’re in our own house I’m a bit more content to stay home. But not too much:)

    • Lisa, I definitely enjoy going out and doing things, but I hate that it all came in one week! I’d like to spread it out a bit…

I can imagine how much fun you’re having in your new home. 🙂

Preparing for company. I am a recluse so I’ve been whining to hubs about not liking huge parties. He, on the other hand, is looking forward to hosting a 25 person 4th of July Bbq. *sigh* Right now, my stomach is tied up with trying to make everything ‘just right’ for Sunday. I know we’ll have fun, but I’ll also be very nervous. We are mixing a lot of circles.

Sounds like you are having fun! I’m sure you are relieved to be out and having fun without worrying about gunshots and bombs.

    Hugs!

    • Good luck this weekend. Everyone will love you, I’m sure of it. I do understand the concern when mixing friends. We always had fights at our college parties because my different groups of friends never got along. But I’m sure that won’t happen at yours. 😉

  4. You seem like such a social person to me! From where I’m sitting, it looks like you live in a social whirlwind, LOL! Enjoy the movie. I thought it was far better than the first two, even though I liked them. There’s lots of Jacob with his shirt off, and man. Yum.

  5. It sounds like you’re having a blast! Good for you! Now I’m going to pretend I know who O.A.R. is.

We go out all the time. I have no idea why. I can barely stand me. I’m annoying. This weekend we go out to dinner Fri night, bike ride with friends Sat, dinner with a couple Sat night, party Sunday, and to the mall with girlfriends on Monday. Writing that just made me feel ridiculous. Plus, now I see why I’m not writing! It’s not just the napping!

    • Robin, I had to look up their songs to remember who they are. I knew I had liked some of their songs at some point…

Have FUN this weekend. I wish I lived closer so I could horn in on some of those dinners. 😉

  6. All that sounds awesome! You’ve been doing so many great things.

I’m really itching for some time out. Tomorrow night will be dinner with friends–which I so need. In a couple weeks, though, which I’m looking forward to even more, I’m staying the weekend with my sister. A concert one night and karaoke at one of her hangouts the next. Can’t wait!

As for this weekend, family and friends will be coming over as usual for the holiday, but it’s going to be a smaller group this year. And I’m okay with that. 🙂

    Sounds like fun!

This weekend we are having a July 4th party at the beach. Bonfires, s’mores, and everything.
