ssssssssssssssssss…….

Do you hear that noise?

*sssssssssssssssssssss*

Those are fumes, and that’s what I’m running on.

For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s the NHL playoffs, also known as the two-month span of time in which I get no sleep. I don’t follow every game during the regular season, but once the playoffs start I’m glued to the television. Considering this is the twentieth consecutive season the Detroit Red Wings have made it to the playoffs, you could say this has become the norm in my life.

Hockey playoffs mean lots of injuries + non-stop action + an excess of facial hair. And that’s the beauty of it. The end is in sight and the players won’t let anything stop them from reaching their goal. Just like writing! Or the way we want our writing to go.

Although I have to say, if I smashed my face into the boards and got 21 stitches, I’d probably take the afternoon off.

  1. And you know hockey players get their stitches without anesthesia, right?

First time that happened to me, I stopped counting after I felt the fifth stitch go on.

And then the doctor said… That was the first one. 🙂

It’s so hard to guess who Q is 😉 LOL!
I have a lovely picture like that of my son after he lost a fight with a rail when snowboarding. No stitches though. *whew*
