Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

Guess what? Next week I will be the proud renter of my very own apartment! Over the past few weeks I’ve repainted/stained/finished a set of outdoor furniture, an ornate mirror, a kitchen table and chairs, an old chest, and this weekend I’m tackling my bedroom furniture. I’ve purchased just about everything I’ll need and have been happily planning how to decorate.

As a designer, that’s my favorite part of moving, and this time around my plan is to frame my own photographs — mostly black and white — and paint deep, soothing colors. I’ve always wanted a sage living room and slate blue bedroom, and now I will! As for the bedroom, I’ve opted for a girly hot pink. Those of you who know me know that while I like to dress up, I’m not exactly girly, so we’ll see how long it takes for the pink to drive me batty. (I’m only painting pink accents — I’m not THAT crazy.)

Between moving and playing outside and trying to keep up with my life, I’ve decided to cut my posts down to once a week. I’ve been reaching for topics lately, and not doing nearly enough “real” writing, so I’m hoping the once-a-week schedule will allow for better posts for you and a little more time for me.

Now, tell me your decorating horror stories!

You’re lucky they are letting you paint! We could paint, but no dark colors and we would have had to repaint it ourselves when we move. Good luck! Can’t wait to see the finished product!

Congrats on the new living arrangements! I will be looking forward to seeing some of your decoration endeavors. Our worst mistake was pointing our familyroom chocolate brown. We were going for a rich feeling and ended up with a dark “cave”.

    • I figured that’s what you meant. 😉

Yeah, I’m going a shade lighter than I want in the living room because I’m worried it’s going to be way too dark. But it’s so soooooothing to me. 🙂
