The Art of Taking Chances is Now Available!

Today’s the day!! The YA romance anthology that I’m in is now available!!

In love, you have to leap to feel the rush.

From first kisses to second chances and celebrity encounters, this collection of young adult contemporary romance short stories has it all.

A forbidden game of truth or dare turns into summer love, a chemistry lab explosion leads to fireworks, a last-minute to-do list becomes an end-of-summer road trip. But first, they’ll have to take the leap.

These delightful, swoon-worthy stories will have you ready to take an adventure of your own.

My contribution to the anthology is a story called The Friend Rules. If that sounds familiar, you’re right. My story tells how two characters from The Trail Rules, Alex and Kurt, first started dating, and it takes place before The Slope Rules. Mica and Topher from TTR are there, too, and it was so fun writing trail riding scenes with the kids who really shred the trails.

Here’s the blurb:

Mountain biker Alex lives for riding with her three best friends, but when she starts to feel more than friendly with one of the guys, she has to decide if a shot at love is worth breaking the friend rules.

Cookie O’Gorman, bestselling author of Adorkable, wrote a perfectly adorable foreword and the rest of the stories will brighten your day.

But the most important part is the ebook is FREE!

Crazy right? You can download it here:

(there’s a chance it’s still listed as 99¢ on Amazon but it should be free very very soon…)

Or you can buy a print copy here.

This is such a cute anthology. I’m a big Melanie Hooyenga fan so decided to give it a shot and wasn’t disappointed. I’ve been in a serious YA contemporary slump and this is the ultimate slump buster. A lot of emotion and fun in these stories. A great collection for any YA fan, young or old. Even my 30-year-old self loved it. — Michelle, Goodreads

Nine sweet stories about love, second chances, best friends, self confidence, misunderstandings and everything in between that comes hand to hand with being a teenager, this difficult but great time in life between childhood and adulthood, and the demos all we have to face. Great for young adults to read.Nati, Goodreads

This is a sweet and great selection of short stories for when you just need a little “pick me up” and/or just a light, quick read. — Debbie, Goodreads

I’ve been in a reading slump recently, nothing was keeping my attention long enough until I decided to pick this up. I devoured it as fast I could in between work and being sick because I just needed more. I loved all the stories and found myself smiling at the end of each one. I know I will be rereading this anthology anytime I need another pick me up! — Amber, Goodreads
