YA Scavenger Hunt featuring J.M. Sullivan

Welcome to the YA Scavenger Hunt! That’s right, I’m doing it again!

This bi-annual event was first organized by author Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to gain access to exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors…and a chance to win some awesome prizes! On this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, you also get a clue for the hunt. Add up the clues, and you can enter for our prize—one lucky winner will receive one book from each author on the hunt in my team! But play fast: this contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online for 120 hours!

Go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page to find out all about the hunt. There are FOUR contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or all! I am a part of the BLUE TEAM—but there is also a red team, a gold team, and a purple team and you can also enter those for a chance to win a whole different set of books!

AND, there’s a bonus entry this year: There’s select a group of authors who have participated in the hunt many times (THAT INCLUDES ME!) and if you add up those numbers as well, you can enter to win a $50 Amazon gift card. The list of those authors are on the YASH ENTRY page.

If you’d like to find out more about the hunt, see links to all the authors participating, and see the full list of prizes up for grabs, go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page.

Entries sent without the correct number or without contact information will not be considered.

I’m hosting J.M. Sullivan for the YA Scavenger Hunt!

J.M. Sullivan is a fairy tale fanatic who loves taking classic stories and turning them on their head. When she’s not buried in her laptop, you can find her watching scary movies with her husband, playing with her kids, or hiding in a book. Although known to dabble in adulting, J.M. is a big kid at heart who still believes in true love, magic, and most of all, the power of coffee. If you would like to learn more about her award-winning stories or connect with J.M., find her on social media at jmsullivanbooks—she’d love to hear from you.

I’m super excited to be doing the YA Scavenger Hunt again. I turned 45 this month (heyyyy quarantine birthday friends!) so I need all the entertainment I can get. Plus it’s fun to get to know new-to-me authors and check out their amazing books, including J.M., featured below, and Kelly, who I stalk—er, follow—on Twitter and I’ve linked to at the end of this post. So without further adieu, here’s J.M.!

Lost Boy

Wendy swore she would return . . .

But Peter isn’t willing to wait. After marooning himself on Neverland to ensure his crew’s return home, Peter is determined to find a way off the ageless planet and back to the Jolly Roger and Wendy’s arms. Looking to the future, he presses on, until someone from his past reveals the dark secrets hidden in Neverland’s depths.

Meanwhile, traveling across distant galaxies, Wendy’s ship is failing. With systems malfunctions increasing and supplies running low, Wendy and her crew must find a way to keep the antiquated vessel afloat. But creaks and groans on an aging vessel aren’t the Captain’s only concern–there are whispers onboard, quiet voices skittering through the shadows that warn of something much more sinister.

Thanks for hosting me on the YA Scavenger Hunt! The book I’m featuring—LOST BOY—is the second installment in my Neverland Transmission series, which is a Peter Pan retelling set in space! 🙂 In addition to writing, I am also the host of #AuthorConfession on Twitter, which is a daily writing game where authors confess about their WIPs!

My bonus content is some secret #AuthorConfessions about my main characters!

Thanks so much for playing on Team Blue. Happy hunting!

Continue the Hunt

It’s Melanie again. Don’t forget to enter the contest for a chance to win a ton of books by me, J.M., and many more! To enter, you need to know that my favorite number is 45. Add up all the favorite numbers of the authors on the blue team and you’ll have all the secret code to enter for the grand prize!

To keep going on your quest for the hunt, you need to check out the next author: Kelly deVos. Kelly is from Gilbert, Arizona, where she lives with her high school sweetheart husband, amazing teen daughter and superhero dog, Cocoa. Her work has been featured in the New York Times as well as on Vulture, Salon, Bustle and SheKnows. Her debut novel, Fat Girl on a Plane, was named one of the “50 Best Summer Reads of All Time” by Reader’s Digest magazine. Her second book, Day Zero, is available now from HarperCollins.

Both her books are HIGH on my TBR list! Go check her out!
